ABOUT
Family law practice serving the San Francisco Bay Area.
Zoe Garvin
I am a licensed California attorney with extensive experience working as an advocate for families in transition. I chose family law as my primary practice area because it touches everyone and I enjoy being able to help people of all different backgrounds. I provide my clients with both legal and practical advice to help them navigate the challenges of a divorce, child custody dispute, probate and the many other issues that arise in a family law case.
Prior to becoming an attorney I worked as a professional grant writer, development director, and executive director at various community-based organizations. I continue to do community service work as a grant writer for criminal justice, community development, violence prevention, and other public health initiatives.

PRACTICE AREAS
MARRIAGE & DIVORCE

Divorce, Legal Separation,
Prenup and Postnup Agreements

Whether you are contemplating divorce or were recently served with a petition for divorce, I can help you navigate the various issues that may need to be discussed, reviewed and resolved such as custody, support, and property division.
If you are getting married and want to protect your interests and/or simplify property division in the event of divorce, I can help you negotiate and draft a marital agreement (prenup or postnup) tailored to your individual needs.
CUSTODY & VISITATION

Custody/Visitation, Child Support, Modifications, Move-Away Requests

Child custody and visitation issues can arise in divorce cases and between unmarried parents. After a custody and visitation order is in place, modifications may be necessary when one parent wishes to relocate or other factors have occurred giving rise to demand a change of custody.
I can help you navigate the many factors that courts take into consideration when making an initial child custody determination or modification.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Temporary and Permanent Domestic Violence Restraining Orders

Domestic violence is a serious issue that has a significant impact on the physical and emotional wellbeing of all parties involved.
Whether you are seeking a restraining order or responding to another person's request for a restraining order, I can help you navigate the process and address the potential long-term consequences of a domestic violence finding on child custody, visitation, and spousal support.
